280 AI Feeding Problems?

I have an older LH Rem 3006 that I would like to rebarrel to 280 AI. I recently rebarreled a Rem VLS to 223 AI and it works fine as long as I use a single shot adaptor. It really doesn't feed well when fed from the magizine. This works fine for this rifle as I single load all of my squirrel and p-dog rifles. But, will I experience the same problem with the 280 AI? I don't want to end up with a single shop big game rifle.

I have a 700 280AI with no feedong problems. There is a bump from the 40* shoulder on the case but the shell will feed into the chamber. As for the 223 AI, my guess is that the case is much shorter so the feed is at a sharper angle.

My understanding with the AI calibers is that if there is a problem with feeding it is not the calibers fault (ie gunsmith?).
