Try a few 165 gr. Partitions with that IMR4350 or H4350 Scotty before you give up on it.

Yuppers! (y)

57 -58 grains is more the classic load though, you're several grains above that.

I've even got some 165 Partitions I could send you. They can be amazingly accurate, and the 4350's are a classic powder for them.

Here's one you might want to look at. Winchester brass, WLR primer, 56.0 gr. W760 and the 165 gr. AccuBond. Velocity not quite 2900 FPS, about 20 FPS shy. load worked up during my summer (100+ degrees). The load is the max in the #7 Nosler manual. Groups have averaged less than an inch, (.75"-.90")

I shot a cow elk three years ago with that load one time. She ran maybe 35 feet and dropped. Did have to give her a finisher. Bullet hit right at the short ribs and traveled to the left lung destroying it. We did not find the bullet. Temp at the time of the shot was 14 degrees above zero.

Rifle is an FN Mauser, 24" Douglas barrel bedded in a McMillan stock.

I’ll give it a check fellas. Shot again today at 250 and just wasn’t impressed with the accuracy of either the 165 or 180 AB. I’ll have to revisit this one. Might even give my old faithful of RL17 a try.

I don’t have any on the shelf, but I may invest in a box of them. Thanks David.
