Gotta love those 30 cal. 168 gr ballistic tips. Got a nice nine point buck with my 30-06.

My pet load - W760 and 168 grain ballistic tips graphs out on the chronograph at 2850 fps and groups around 1 inch at 100 yds.

Just shot a nine point right in the adam's apple at 100 yds. Confidence in the load enables shots like this. The buck was standing in tall grass & only showed me the top half of his neck, his head and the rack. I hit him EXACTLY where I wanted & dropped him on the spot.

Love the 168's. The longer taper on the ogive allows me to seat the bullet further out - leaving more room for powder. I actually get about 150 fps FASTER from 168 grain ballistic tips than I do from the 165's.

Thanks Nosler!

One hellova product you've got there.

Does anyone have a picture of this bullet sectioned in half? I'm interested to know if it has a heavier controlled expansion jacket than the 165 bt does.

Here's the pics.

I hunt in the easter upper peninsula of Michigan.

I was fortunate to have access to a friends hay farm. During November deer tend to congregate at the hay farms so they can fatten up before the long winter hits.

Where about in the Eastern UP are you? My wife is from Moran and that is where I hunt.

Our place is between Rudyard and Pickford. We're right on the Munuscong River.

Beutiful place to be!

My wife does cook one hellova good neck roast. She makes it like a German sauerbraten. The neck roast was just a little shorter this year - but we're still eatin' sauerbraten this weekend - so you are right. Very little meat damage & no lactic acid build-up, which happens when the run a country mile.
