300 RUM?

I thought the general scuttlebutt was that Nosler was waiting for Scotty to buy a 325WSM before making the .323 220 grain AB.

I was trying to keep my mouth shut. Besides why does he need that now with his 338-375 Ruger?

My sources tell me that the 325 might be out the window since Fotis bought his 8mm rem mag. If Fotis sells his 8mm rem mag to Scotty (rumor has it) that should still produce a 220 Partition from Nosler. As i understand it Nosler has been on pins and needles waiting for a confirmation from either of the above mentioned individuals, time will tell.

Bill "riding the coat tails of Scotty to a .325 220 gr Partition"

Sounds accurate to me.

I guess we shall find out! Funnier things have happened! I tell ya, if there was a 220 AB or PT, I would be more apt to have the 325 of 8RM that is for sure. I know the 200's are great in the PT and AB line, but the 300 covers that space pretty well. Since I like to buy what Nosler sells, the 220 would be a shoe in to me. I think a 220 at 2800 or 3000 out of the 8RM would be pretty awesome.

I am still keeping my eyes open for an elk rifle for the wife. The 325 could be just that rifle with a good brake on it. I can't imagine it would have much recoil and it would allay any fears of her having enough rifle!

Scotty,

The 325WSM is a pussycat. Your wife would likely be comfortable with it without a brake. Felt recoil is similar to that of a 300WSM, which isn't all that different from a .308. One fix for recoil is to shoot the 180 grain E-Tip in the 325WSM. As far as that goes, even the 180 grain BT would work well for most game in that cartridge.

While I think my Montana .325 is a pretty light kicker, to compare it to a .308 (Ruger in my case) is a bit far-fetched...
