I am looking for reloading data on 180 and 200 grain accubonds for a 300 weatherby mag. My current nosler manual doesn't have info on accubonds (AB). I haven't loaded any 180 grain ABs yet, but I have used the 200 gr ABs with 72 grains of IMR 4831. It groups about 1.5" at 100 yards and groups better at 200 yards for some reason. I would like to find a more accurate load with these bullets because I am extremely impressed with their performance on elk and deer.

Try IMR7828 powder. Start at 81 Gr. I have found that this powder is the best for my 300 WB with 180 GR. Nosler bullets. 83.5 GR is about were I stop. 3250 FPS with sub MOA group. The problem I have is the bullet depth. Right now I am using 3.670 O.C.L. I see that Nosler Custom loads are 3.560. Funny that is what Weatherby ammo is at also. Makes me wonder if that would be better.
Does anyone have thoughts on this? Being that the Weatherby Rifle has a long throat.

I have been a weatherby fan for a very long time. I can tell you this. I have had 378 WBYS that shot moa or less when seated out to wby factory ammo specs and the same guns would not shoot as well when seated all the way out. Just depends on the rifle I guess.

Thanks for the info.

I haven't had much luck with the IMR 7828, but maybe I'll give it another chance. I have tried seateing bullets from 3.56" all the way to 3.72" total length, and honestly I haven't noticed much difference between the two. Maybe I am better off the keep them seated short like to Weatherby ammo.

I have also had good luck with RL-25 with 180 up to 220 gr. bullets. RL-25 realy shines with Speer GS 200 gr. 3145 fps, that is really bring it with 200 gr. bullet.
Over the weekend I worked up a load with the new barns tripple shock 168 gr. Boy is it smoken... 3470 f.p.s. with 85.5 gr. of IMR7828. Also loaded up the Nosler AB 180 gr. IMR7828 does it again. This powder works best for me at the top end. Let me know if it works for you.
