In your view is the .308 win. enough for really big black bear, 400 plus ,with 180grn rullets or is the .358 better ?

The .308 is just a short more efficient .30/06. It is plenty adequate for black bear.

I'd not hesitate to hunt very large black bear with a .308. However, if I were you I'd get a .358, just because it is a cool calibre.

................Sure!..........It`s good enough.

I think the .308, with appropriate bullets and at appropriate range, is enough cartridge for anything in North America. As is the .30-06.

The 308 Win with a 180 gr PT is more than enough for even the biggest Black Bear.

I would choose a 165 Partition or AccuBond and use it for everything. It is the most efficienct and multi-purpose weight bullet per case capacity in the 308 Win, imo. Same goes for the 30-06.
