.338 Jarrett satisfaction.

I think I'm done experimenting with powders. I became obsessed with eliminating the flyers I was getting with the partitions. I'm satisfied now. I will have a little time to play with the 250 AccuBond before I head to Alaska.I have taken my last three elk with the AccuBond. I have been getting consistent .75 inch groups but have done my tinkering at max length for the magazine. I'll try dropping to 3.60 +- and see if I can improve on .75.
Given where I hunt I am really wanting to get my hands on the 338 ablr.

I have a few, tend to pick them up if I find them at sportsman warehouse. I need to find another box or.two before I head north for the summer. There won't be any around when I get home in September. I went elk hunting last year with 16 rounds of AccuBond. Felt weird not having a full box.

Been home from Alaska for a week and getting caught up on the chores. Snuck off to the range today to see if I could get the 250 grain AccuBond to shoot better than the Partition. I pulled the first shot when the guy next to me touched of his rifle, the next four went into .209 (.547-.338). I think I'm done tinkering. The AccuBond will get the starting lineup for elk season.
I'll send the target photos to FOTIS for posting.

Both of those rifles are for sure dialed in and ready to hunt! Way to go guys!! You too FOTIS your IT skills are second to none! :)

Way to go SC. That 250 AB will carry the mail. What's your specs on the load?

250 grain AccuBond;
375HH brass fire formed;
84 grains 7828 SSC;
2.958 to ogive;
2900+/- fps
Very confident out to 400, the last two spikes were around 380 and shot from sitting. Feel good from prone out to 600 but even though I've shot out to 1000 accurately I would be very hesitant to reach out past 400 on elk. I've hunted the Walla Walla for more then 20 years, 386 was my longest shot. Could have shot that bull several different times as I worked in from just under a grand. At 400 it's still more than enough gun.

Great shooting. If that don't get the job done I'm not sure anything else would have either.
