Hey, what kind of recipes have been cooked up for the new 250 GR AB in an 338 RUM?

I have a dandy 700 Remington with a 4.5-14 CDS Leupold. I have several loads worked up for it in 225 but am looking to shoot the new 250, anyone out there futzing with this???
Would like to get it dialed in and order my turrets, ya gotta love CDS scopes!

You picked a great combo!

338 RUM
250 gr AB
98.6 grs Retumbo
Federal GM215M
MV 2970 fps
Accuracy is sub .5 MOA

First kill with the 338 250 gr AB from a 338 RUM, exit wound

Let us know how this load shoots for you.

I also used the same load with the 250 gr PT, MV was 3024 fps with very low ES and SD.

According to the ballistic calculator.....

250 gr PT at 3024 fps generates 5063 ft lbs ME along with 52.0 ft lbs recoil.

Great shooting again! Those pictures never get old! Be better when the rifle is laying over a moose though! Scotty

I'm getting close to that, 2990 FPS, w/my 375RUM and the 260AB. Now, my 338RUM w/the 250AB is a little slower, around 2966 fps and getting around 3150 fps with the 200ET.

RR,

Those are some powerful loads you're shooting there. I can't imagine that there are many T. Rex left to take down with those. Good show. A 260 grain AB at almost 3000 fps would be a fearsome and potent load (on both ends).

Thanks JD338
I will give that mighty impressive Retumbo load a try. CW

How do you attach a photo?

Boy!!!
This would be a REALLY bad time to be a T-REX.
Those are some potent and accurate loads for sure. If this was a sports car forum I think we'd all be driving Lamborghinis and Ferraris and looking for somethin faster.
AIN'T IT FUN!!!!! Just wait until my 416s get the turbochargers installed.
Speaking of speed and power, I wonder how Pop is doing with his 416 WBY and the new 350 TTSXBTs?
