35 Remington What can you tell me about it?

I just picked up a Remington 760 BDL in 35 Rem and wanted to see if anyone has played with this cartridge. What bullets, what powder, what size groups are you getting. Looking for any info that you can give me.

I've had good luck pushing them at near 2000 fps mv out of my 336 Marlin.

I'm curious since the 760 isn't a tubular magazine wouldn't a 200 gr AccuBond be a good choice of would it be too tough at 35 Rem speeds?

The lever people rant and rave over the factory leverevolution ammo....faster vel from special powder and near spitzer bc.
I just picked up a 6.5# special run 336 marlin in 35 and cant wait to give it a go!

The 35 rem is a good short to medium range cartridge for deer, elk and black bear. Since it's chambered in a Rem 760 it's a perfect brush gun. I would stick with a round nose or flat nose. Sorta similar to the 30-30 as far as speed, I wouldn't push it too hard unless you use the 200 grain bullet.

You could use the 200 gr AB in the M760 and it would work but the 200 gr SPCL was made for the 35 Rem.

Congrats on the new Gun,

I handload for my M336 and it really, really love SPEER 180grs Flat Points with a heavy dose of H335. Sub-MOA groups (3-Shots @100) and at a screaming fast 2380fps out of the 20" Marlin.

I've also tried the Hornady factory 200g Leverevolution ammo thru my M336 and it shot extremely good as well.

Have fun playing with it, it will serve you well.

I can vouch for the 180 Speers. Very accurate and very tough bullets for their weight!
My Marlin loved the lever evolution. We were 100% on bowling pins at 200 yards with that ammo.

I would load the 200gr rem CLRN with LVR and woold expect 2250-2300 fps in a 22" barrel. And it will smoke any thing out to 200 yards. The Flextip Hornady would be my second choice with the 180gr speer @ about 2400fps as a third choice.

The 200gr CLRN is both fast expanding and extremely tuff back in the midsection. Another opption for larger game would be the 220gr Speer with the same LVR powder, black bear and moose beware.

I load the 200gr CLRN, 40.0grs of H4895, federal 205M primers in Rem brass for 2188fps in a 336D which has a 18.5"ported barrel.

Thanks for all the advice so far it's been a big help. I can't wait to get bullets, brass, and dies and see what it will do. My dad has a couple of the 760 BDL in 270 and they shoot great for a pump gun I hope this will do the same.
