They are the animals that really make my stomach turn thinking about getting up close and personal with one in the bush.. Awesome animals.

Know doubt I would be shaking worse than a dog passing razor blades afterwards    I tend to be more respectful of things that can eat me.

A charge by a mountain grizzly is pretty exciting. Well, that is one way of saying it. At such a time, even a large calibre rifle seems awfully small.

Never been charged by a Grizzly but had a Big Md. Black Bear do it and bounced the first round off it's skull ( 257 Roberts 115gr Hrdn) but the second one found the brain. DNR took the Bear since there was no season at the time I was forced to put it down when it wanted my fresh deer kill.

Forget those bears for awhile Pard, I need for you to go to the range and see how this newly throated killer does! I'm going to break mine out again soon and shoot some to 300 yds or so.

Preacher Jim I'm working on it but have to get another scope first so I can shoot it since I sent the 2.5-8 back to SWFA for a refund. Thinking hard about the 3.5-10X44mm Meopta . Would like a 2-10X42mm for on top but can't find what I want in my price range for under $400.
Picked up a can of H335 instead of the H322 by mistake but it looks like it will work since it's about the same burn rate as the old RL12. According to QL you can load a 200gr AB with 63.75grs and get 2977fps with 64611 psi which is max for this round and bullet. You can reach 2928fps and just break 60736psi with 62.53grs according to QL. This is in a 24" barrel.

That load would be a sledge hammer.

Jim It is impressive in QL for sure but we will have to see what it will do on paper and what the chrony says. It was doing very well before I sent it back and I'm hoping by lengthening the throat it will get better.

Hey dude, if you need to wait and save your pennies for the scope you really want, I have a spare scope you can borrow and use as long as you need to. It's a 2x7 Bushnell, just let me know. (y)

Heck, H335 may just be better than H322, although I've been using it since 1997, ha. I've had great results with H335 in both the 35 Remington and in the 30-30 Ackley Improved. I don't think you could tell the difference when it all works out.

I was thinking the same thing Jim. H322 does have a little more temp resistance to it, if that matters to you, but overall, they are both very good powders.

When I get the new Meopta 3.5-10x44mm for it I'll load some of the H335 up and see how it does for accuracy. Not looking to break the bullet speed record with this just a good accurate load, 2800fps will be fine with me.

Preacher Jim, thanks for the offer I have other scopes but only want to put the one on I'll be using all the time. As much as I like to shoot I dislike removing scopes and resighting in the rifle every time, do it one time and forget about it. I just finished ordering the Meopta 3.5-10X44mm Zplex for it new in the box from Cameraland who had them on special new in the box.

I don't think you'll dislike that scope at all Rodger.

Scotty I was tempted to pull the Conquest 4.5-14X44mm MC SF off the 300Wby and put it on the Ack Imp but didn't want to change up again when I get a new scope for this rifle.
