I'm getting ready to load the 356 Win. with 220 gr. Speer bullets. What OAL length has worked out for those of you who have got pet loads. Also the 200 gr. Hornady FTX.
I'm looking forward to shooting this beauty.356 Win 94 001.JPGView attachment 356 Win 94 002.JPG. I put quick release rings on it so it could be a true black timber rifle if need be. I'm planning on putting a sling on it for long hikes.
Thanks for your help.
Greg

The cannelure is in the right place for the 356win as Speer states in their manual. I would stick to their listed OCL so the cartridge will cycle through your gun. Its always good to know what your rifles length is to the lands for safty. Crimp on the cannelure, I use a Lee factory Crimp and it works great.

My lever is a 366D in 35rem and its safe mate is a 358win 700. That 220gr Speer at 2350fps is serious juju on elk/moose/bears.

On the ftx follow hornady's instructions.

I gave up on them. Too much hassle.

When Speer says 2.560 inches, they mean 2.560 inches. You have less than 0.005 inches to play with before you have feeding problems.
