What is it with bullet manufactures :?:
I was just looking at the Woodleigh site and in there reference of bullet caliber and weights they jump right from the .338 to the .375 and don't show their .358 bullets. It's no wonder the 35 caliber cartridges are not very popular when the manufactures don't push their own bullets in this caliber. :?

Looks like their site is down I can't access it anyway, they have always had them there in the past.

I'm a 35 fan, many are not and I don't know why. Lots of old RN bullets, I like those too, or big heavy jacketed bullets. I'd like to see the 200-225gr market expanded some.

My 358 Win is slower than I am with 250's, penetrates like a drill but.......

Nosler needs to make a 180 NBT with a heavy jacket for the 35's. :)

They list them but when they list the combined calibers and weights for each they pass right over the 35.

Wouldn't you know it. I didn't write down the link and when I went back looking for it I can't find it. I'm sure I was on their home page when i saw it. I did see what you are talking about DrMike but there was another link that just showed the line off bullet calibers and the weights available under them and the 358 was omitted.

Woodleigh doesn't make a .358 in the Brass Solid bullet; it does jump from .338 to .375.

It's off line right now so I couldn't check. But it does seem that the 35 is the red headed step child of most manufactures. At least that is the impression I seem to get when I look at availability and designs. Nosler is the only one who seems to produce a ballisticaly efficent bullet with the AB and BT offerings when you can find them. Maybe I'm miss something but I don't know.

I've always wonder that myself. Why isn't the .35 caliber more popular? I guess I'm one of those incurable rifle loonies as I had to buy a .358 Win,, now have four of them mad a .35 Whelen, now have three of those just to see what was what. Like I need an excuse right? All I can say is those that ignore the .35's or consider the Whelen just another brush round just have no clue on what they're missing.

The beautiful thing about the 358 and/or the 35 Whelen, they don't require a premium bullet to work. A cup and core bullet at the velocities generated will bring down most any game.

Without a doubt. They work real well with regular bullets and work like diamond tipped drill bits with the premiums!

I really like the 250 PT in the Whelen. Excellent bullet that's just about perfect for hunting I do with it. Saying that, the 250 Speer is an excellent fill in at any time. Also another really tough bullet.

I'd like so see more .358 bullets, but honestly, I have plenty of options with what is out there right now.
