I adjusted the OAL of my cartridge from 2.882" to 2.860" and accuracy greatly improved and will be my round I take to Missouri to back up my 338Win mag. I used 50gr TAC with 215 Fed primers, Winchester brass and the 225gr AccuBond. This is a max load for my Ruger 22" barrel Hawkeye moving at 2555fps on average over 10 shots.

What level of accuracy are you getting now?

I am getting 1 1/4 to 7/8 of an inch which is a real improvement and is hunting accuracy as far as I am concerned. I had one group at .682" which has been the smallest group after the OAL adjustment.

I actually can get 2600fps out of the AccuBond with 51.5grs and it is at the limit before being over max but have not tried it with the new OAL yet.

Thats pretty good accuracy Mike.
Now all we need is a 225 gr AB PP version.

Mike,

That is certainly fine accuracy and velocity with the AB. I would be tempted to make that a primary rifle for the deer.

DR. I am going to do just a little more with this load and use it for every thing I will hunt with the 358Win. I will with TAC get very close if not over 2600fps with the AccuBond and not be over max for my rifle. Already know that by working up the load that gave me the velocity and I will just tweak the OAL and improve accuracy.

I am enjoying working with TAC in my .358s and in my .356s. It works very well indeed.
