The biggest I have is a 9.3X64 Brenneke. The biggest game it has taken is a fine whitetail buck. As others have stated, at the shot he went three feet ... straight down. I do love that rifle. It is comparable to a 375 H&H in both recoil and impact on game.

In other words, the impact is the same on both ends.

I have the Mossberg patriot which with scope is 7 lbs and a little change. Great to carry, cheap when reloaded with cast bullets and fun to shoot.
The 235 Speer bullets and 285 cast I use for rough country elk and deer as my beater rifle. Both shoot to near same spot at 100 yards.

Scary recoil with full house 300 grain bullets. Have to put a sandbag between my shoulder and the stock.

I believe you, I was amazed with the penetration when i used the 180 AccuBond, back in January, that traveled the length of a red stag cow from stem to stern, it just needed about 2 inches more to make a pass through out of the rear hams.
