I took this Bear a few weeks ago in Saskatchewan at 454 lbs. he's my best to date. Shot was 35 yards, he was walking toward me when he turned and looked hard to his right . Bullet hit right where the neck and shoulder come together. he dropped and never twitched after about 20 seconds I saw his chest heave so I gave him another. Not sure which shot the bullet is from the hits were very close together. I only found 1 bullet it was laying in the bottom of the chest cavity the Bullet weighs 379 grs. The load is a really stout charge of H335 , a load I got from a Brian Pearce article , said to push that bullet at 1900 fps. though I have never chronoraphed it. The rifle is a Marlin 1895 Guide gun with XS ghost ring sights and is one of the funest guns I own to shoot and hunt with.
