The only one that "hurts" is the 378 without brake.

Muzzle blast always gets me, never feel the recoil till later.

Yes, I agree. An un-braked 378 is vicious from the bench. Been there done that

That's funny George! I like it. If drawn for mule deer & pronghorn in Wyoming this year, I'll bring the good ol' .25-06 of course, and likely the matching .30-06 too. Logic dictates that the .30 cal 700 CDL is the one for 300 pound mule deer and the .25 for 100 pound pronghorn, but it probably won't work out that way... :mrgreen:

Re the .460, the biggest, baddest sporting rifle I ever shot was a .450 Ackley mag on a Model 70 action. That thing was a thumper! Wonder how it compares with the .460 Wby? That .460 is a BEAST!

Looks like it is good for 2300 - 2400 fps with a 500 gr bullet. I thought it was "powerful" enough for me!
