I imagine that should give a pretty good thump at either end.

Oh man, what a beautiful hammer.
Can you post a picture of a 505 Gibbs, maybe with something more common for a comparison.

Wow, that is a beautiful rifle. Very nice wood on that one.

Yeah, that 505 is ginormous! What a case!

I'm with Jim, love to see some pictures of it next to something common. What a horse of a cartridge.

Are you planning a big Africa hunt or anything in particular or do you just have the bug to to shoot the monster big bores? Very cool either way. Congrats on such a beautiful rifle.

Here you go Jim,

Awesome Lou, thanks.
The 505 Gibbs is the original fat boy.

The case does make even the 375 H&H look small.

It does Mike..I'm not at all recoil shy, but if that rocket launcher were mine, I'd be having a break installed on that beast

Or shoot a WHOLE bunch of cast bullet loads with reduced powder charges telling myself "nothing much needs this sorta killing"

Thanks guys. Yes, she is a monster for sure. Makes my 460Wby look like a pea shooter...lol
I hope to get her scoped and some loads put together soon. Got some 600gr Woodleigh RN and Barnes Banded Solids. Will for sure be starting low and working up until I "tap out" LOL

Very cool.

Man, I'd love to see you do a jug test with that Woodleigh Boomer. That would be a worthy write up. We don't hardly see enough of the big guys being tested.
