Anyone have the load data for these bullets, I have Number 4 edition of the reloading manual and that book doesnt have the 6.8 :( in the book as it was still a silly dream at that point. If anyone has the load data on it, please can you pass it on...thank you

For a reasonable starting point, check out Hodgdon's online data at data.hodgdon.com. They show the 85gr Barnes, which would be somewhat close. You could use the start load and work up carefully.

On a side note, I'm pretty excited about these, as they make one more option for my son's 270WSM that will still maintain lower recoil as we start working up to full loads from youth loads. A start charge in these will still be fairly manageable recoil, and as long as we can get the velocity up around 2800-3k at the muzzle, I'm comfortable with him taking shots out to 100-150yds, as long as his accuracy will sustain it. There are a lot of new options coming on board with the advent of modern, monolithic bullets. It's a great time to be a handloader!

I've had similar thoughts about these and a .270 Win. I've got quite some time before my kids will be ready for centerfires, but I think shooting these out of a .270 would be a great option for a young shooter. I should be able to get recoil near .243 levels with a caliber I'm more comfortable with.

I think we're thinking on the same lines, Rovert. If you've not seen the Hodgdon youth data, google it. It's a very cool concept using H4895 to yield low recoil loads (in line with 243Win-level recoil) that are effective on deer-sized game out to a couple hundred yards. I'll be starting in on some 110gr AccuBond loads humming along at 2600-2700fps for my son this spring. I've been trying to get started on this for him for about a year, but we've both been super busy. Good luck with the loading for your son, as well.
