Some powders and some cartridges just seem to go together real well.
By cheating and calling Sierra's tech line, I learned that they're real enthused about RL-22 and their 160 gr Gameking in the 7mm Rem mag. That's why I gave it a try in my rifle, and the combination of RL-22 and a good 160 became my standard load after the demise of H870.
It really does seem to burn cleaner than the H870 anyway - and does deliver excellent accuracy with 3000 - 3100 fps from every rifle I tried it in - four different 7mm Rem mag rifles as I recall.
All this 7mm talk is not good for me. It was my favorite, go-to hunting cartridge for a decade and now I don't even own one!
