Just got home from the range after playing with seating depths a bit and 12 bullets later, here are the results:

I'm extremely happy! This was only the second range trip with this new barrel.[/img]

Wow! There is nothing wrong with that group. It will work for anything you go after.

Yep, that barrel must be defective. I'll give you a hundred bucks for it to cut it down for a pistol barrel..............

Here's a blurry phone pic of the rifle:

Yote you can send that barrel to me I have the same rifle in a 280 rem .There sweet for sure...Geo.

That is some pretty fine shooting, and a very fine looking rifle! What are you getting for speed on those bad boys?

Wow that's awsome. What do those rifles weigh? It looks like you can put a 26 inch barrel on there and it still would be shorter than a standard rifle.

Corey- I have not weighed my rifle but I can tell you it is very handy and lightweight for the length barrel. You are correct in that you can run longer barrels up to 28" Pro hunter barrels and it will be much shorter overall length than a bolt action rifle, in that there is no short action or long action receiver. I have a 26" muzzleloader barrel and 26" heavy barrel in 22-250 that are very accurate as well. The longer heavier varmint barrel combined with a 6-24x scope add some weight and take away a little of it's manueverability but is still not too bad and helps with little muzzle jump when shooting over prairie dog towns. Myself, I don't have any desire for the 28" barrel but it's more preference and how it would be used. TC says my rifle in it's current scoped configuration should weigh about 7.25 lbs. Here's a link if you care to check them out further: http://www.tcarms.com/firearms/encoreCenterfire.php

They can be chambered in about anything from 22 hornet to 416 rigby. To include 20-12 ga rifled and smoothbore as well as 17hmr, 22 wmr, and 22 LR. Oh, and 45 or 50x209 muzzleloaders. Very versatile!

The trigger is half way decent. Not a finely tuned Timney, but not bad. I've not had it on a trigger scale but I'd say 3.5 lbs-4 lbs, no more. There is absolutely no creep. It pulls a bit harder than most of my hunting rifles that I like at 3 lbs or less. It has a bit of overtravel that could be compensated by adding a set screw to the rear of the tigger guard on the older model Encores, if I ever get around to drill and tapping it.

Yote,

Are the Encore triggers adjustable? They are on the Contender.
