I ought to have my head examined. I need another rifle. I've been looking at this one for well over two weeks and tonight, I got weak and went ahead and bought it. It was one of the better looking ones I ran across and in a moment of weakness, I succumbed to the beauty.

Nah, you don't need your head examined. That is a sho' 'nuff purty rifle. I have a 7X57 in a Featherweight configuration that I truly enjoy. Great cartridge and a fine rifle.

Nice pic up I am sure head is fine, just too many Benjamin's in the pocket
I was seen caressing that same Sako Deluxe 9.3 this afternoon but I am Optiks poor at the moment? What optik ya planning on for the 7x57 ?

I'm still chewing on what scope it may need. Perchance, an old vintage Lyman All American 4X Perma Center would be appropriate for such an ancient cartridge.

Very nice rifle! Anyone would be proud to own that one.

It's like cigarettes or pipes. I don't know how many times I've said, "OK, last one". It's never worked yet. One ray of hope is that I'm nearing capacity of my safe so, that'll slow me down.

That didn't slow me down...

Hey, I'm more of a victim than practitioner of enabling, Dr. Black Kettle...

That didn't slow me down...

Prior to getting my safe, I had them hid all over the place...behind doors, a Ruger GP100 in the medicine cabinet, in closets with clothes over them and one even under the couch. I swore I wouldn't do that again.

Corners need clutter. It's a law of the universe. May as well make it rifles, at least it's something useful then.

I use to worry a lot with that Model 29 hid in it's case behind the back bedroom door and that custom 270 under the bed in it's case...no more.

That nice large Browning safe gives me great peace of mind and is bolted to a concrete floor downstairs.

This below is what happened one afternoon as I was fondelin that Sako 9.3 I walked out with yes you know it a Smith 29

But I have not walked out with the Sako 9.3 YET
They also had a Barrett 416 setting on the counter that got my smile working again, thing weighed more than a boat anchor! I just figured out I have 2 22 LR with scopes I have not shot yet? I wonder if I might move out in the country somewhere that I can just raise the window and just bust loose on some targets?

Very very nice and assuredly a most useful caliber!

...a Leupold 2.5X8 VX3 Compact in gloss, w/ gloss mounts would be a fine match for that classic, keeping in the "Featherweight" tradition...

Ah, yes, and I left out Gene. Terribly forgetful of me.

One of my fantasies. Another I've had would be to have a 100 yard underground range. Well, if you're going to dream, dream big.

This 7x57 is probably one of the top five best looking rifles as for wood I've owned. Cabelas has a ton of these but, you have to hunt for the nicer ones. Some are $500 more and the wood not near as nice.

HOGWILD338-378, for your viewing entertainment, a little M29 eye candy...
