Thanks guys. I've been fortunate enough to have enjoyed some guided hunts over the past 20 years or so, but there is a great sense of satisfaction doing it all yourself. I was 61 then, had retired from the cop job. Like most of us there were some injuries as well as general wear and tear on the body. It was a real confidence booster, getting it all done myself.
Setting that heavy, warm pack down in the back of my Jeep made me smile with satisfaction.
