Working up a load for caribou/moosehunt this fall with (hopefully) some of the boxes of 180 gr Accubonds I have just bought.

How sensitive are they on COL and what's the recommended distance from the rifling (thumb rule) for them?

Also, somebody with data for VV N165 or VV N170 and this bullet in 300 win mag?

Sorry for the language, Norwegian poster...

The ABs are longer in the nose than most hunting bullets. In my 280 they shoot good about 0.30 off the lands. My 300 Wby liked 0.20.

As far as I can tell your English is very good. Here's the data from Nosler's #5 Reloading Guide for the 300Win Mag with Viht N165.
Starting 71.5gr (most accurate load)
Max 75.5gr
As always start low and work your way up carefully. As for seating off the rifling I believe that’s more dependent to the rifle than the bullet.
Good luck with your hunt.

What's a good starting OAL for 30-06 with 180 AB's? My 22" barreled Rem 700 has such a long leade, that the mag well is the only OAL limit and even then, not much of the bullet would be seated in the neck if I used that restriciton.

Once I work up pressures and velocities using H414, Win cases/primers, over my Ohler M33 Chronograph, I can play with OAL a little.
