Was wondering if anyone has any tips or hints for loading up rounds on an AR-15. I finally got around to order my upper....

Stag 4H 5.56 Nato Chamber
20" Chrome Moly barrel with 1/9 Twist.

I have some Nosler 50 & 55 grain BTs to try from another gun. I am thinking about picking up some 60 grain BTs to try with the faster twist.

As for powder, right now I have some TAC and Varget to try, along with Winchester cases and CCI primers.

Now I only have to wait for the upper to get here and put the lower together.

Congratulations, very nice.

The 60 gr BT should make for a great coyote bullet.
Let us know how she shoots.

 You got me Pop!

Have been planning on buying one forever. I carried an A1 when I served and would love to put one of those together. After the election I said forget it and went with this.

Full lenght resize and keep your brass and chamber clean to avoid a stuck case in the chamber.
I get good results out of my Bushmaster with Varget and 55gr bullets.

Scott, now that you own the lower, or the numbered part, you can alway put together an A1 upper, and have the best of both worrlds. Or a short upper, or a 6.8 upper, or a 24" upper with a 20x varmit scope.....

With Ramshot Tac, I found that 24 grains under most 55 grain bullet shoots extremly well with an oal of 2.250"

Are you going to use this for plinking and target practice or is this going to be used for varmints?

I guess that i only use mine for targets and tinkering around so i buy the cheapest componets possable, i would not use the nosler BT in mine. Those are a hunting bullet for me........

Just curious

A little of both. I plan on getting a 16" flat top carbine one day for yote hunting but wanted to get a full out "EVIL" rifle first. You know, the deadly bayonet lug, flash hider a whole stack of 30 round PMags

I want a 16" bbl for tactical situations!!!!! 8)

A great go to rifle for those "get the F%$# out of my yard" moments is a short barreled AR-15 with a dot or holographic sight.

The cool thing about the AR is the interchangable uppers. I think the 6.8 spc with a 16" or less bbl would make a great "knock down" rifle. Especially with a varmint bullet.

Nice rifle and red fox Bob.
Who says the "black" rifles aren't made for hunting.
