I dunno....you could have several Lever guns from Bighorn Armory for that money. I've owned enough Marlins to know that they aren't that special. Had to be some emotional connection to empty pockets for that Marlin. Not too long ago, Elmer Keiths private collection was sold. Many of those guns had serious provenance, being owned by some very famous shooters, hunters and given to Elmer by industry aristocracy. This gun is not that special. If I had $10k to spend frivolously, it would be for a bolt gun by one of a American Custom Gunmakers Guild Members.

I was wondering if it belonged to someone famous… that gun will be 150 years old before it fetches that price again!
