Stephan and I got back guys. Had the time of our lives. Saw a lot of sign but no elk. However our camp mate Gabriel did great. Went out and busted this brute with his 300 Win mag and 180 Hornady SSt's at 30 yards!
Congrats Gabe!

We're going up in two weeks again.

Fotis,

Congratulations to Gabe on a great bull!

Thanks Jim. We certainly will try!

Indeed, Gabe is to be congratulated. He tagged a fine elk. I am sorry you and Stephen didn't get into one. However, it is great that you will be able to go again in a couple of weeks.

As he was taking this 6x6 bull out of the woods he took 3 pictures of a 7x7 which stood there watching him!

Fotis glad to hear you and Stephan had a great time and are back safe and sound. They will be all your guys in a couple of weeks. That's a very nice bull, tell your friend congrats.

Congrats to Gabe and good luck on your next hunt!

I saw at least 100 elk outside Missoula today.

Looks like a successful hunt to me. Any time someone gets an elk, they've done ok.

And you're still able to hunt later on, so best of luck!

Jim

I agree. I just want my boy to get the experience. His first elk hunt. As for me a goose egg is just fine.

You are off to a great start for your party Fotis! I'm sure seeing someone in camp get a bull will keep the fire lit for your son. The most memorable hunts are the ones you work the hardest at.

Fotis, that is a great bull tell your friend congratulations from me.
I hope that both you and your son have that same success in 2 weeks :). Your boy could not ask for a better Dad & role model taking him on hunts like that are life lessons that he will pass down to his kids someday 8)

Blessings,
Dan

Nice bull. Good luck on your up coming hunt. Hopefully you and your son find that 7x7--that would be a fun pack out!

Do not bring that up!

With my broken back I am limited where we can go and how far in the back country!

Maybe a game cart would help. You could always bone the meat out. If I were in the area, I would love to help out  . There is something about a 100 lb pack full of meat that makes me grin  .

Same here, I would be honored to help if I just wasn't so darn far away!
