So...

Boiled the four bear brats in beer, chopped onions, butter and water, for about 30 minutes... Then threw 'em on the Weber over coals for a few minutes....

Then served 'em up to the family:

Bear brats were a huge success!

I can believe it, Guy. It sounds scrumptious. Man, I'm going to have to get some bear brats.

NICE! Those look excellent Guy! Man, I can't wait to start making some sausage!

Guy, if that tastes as good as it looks it must of been a excellent meal:)!!

Blessings,
Dan

Repeat again tonight... They're on the stove now!

Bear brats & red wine go good together...

Sounds excellent Guy. Just received by bear back from the processor. I had some brats made as well. Think I will have to follow in your foot steps in a few days.

Those would also be nice with some properly made sauerkraut :)

gerry, my wife just made Elk sausage and then mashed potatoes mixed with sauerkraut.
It was hard to only eat 2 helping

Blessings,
Dan

I need to come and visit you say around supper time  That is exactly how we do it as well, cook the sausages with the sauerkraut and then put it over mashed potatoes, very good. We are going to get some sausage made from the deer we got last week and can't wait to make them with the sauerkraut we made yesterday from the cabbage we grew in our garden this year :)

Home grown cabbage. Making that into sauerkraut. Cooking sausages from venison you took.

This is great stuff guys. Maybe all those anti-hunters are just jealous of how good we eat?

Guy

Add the potatoes from the garden and everything was grown or taken by us, many people can't say that about their food.

gerry, homemade sauerkraut is hard on me  but it can be harder on my family .
I am not sure if that is a dutch meal or not but my Dad was German and we never ate sauerkraut with mashed potatoes!!

Blessings,
Dan

We have German blood in us and never had sauerkraut with mashed potatoes but my wife who is 1/2 Dutch did it all the time so there must be something to that :)

Just canned the sauerkraut up yesterday, we are sending some of our deer meat to a sausage maker this coming Saturday and should have it done sometime the next week. Trying some farmers sausage this time, can't wait. :) We are going to attempt to make some home made bear sausage this winter from the bear we got in the spring. Should be fun to try.

Same here Gerry. Going to make up some sausage and maybe some salami pretty quick from the elk. With the grinder and stuffer, it makes it a whole lot more fun and easy.

No elk jerky guys ? Now that is just not rite as the layers of neck meat make some great jerky with some soy sauce, garlic, and red chili flakes ? I guess that is a NM thing
Guy I have never had bear but looking at that weber sure get's them taste bud's all riled up but I am a hot mustard guy being stationed in Frankfurt, for a couple years

I have elk jerky in the fridge right now Terry.. Should have some made up for the weekend.
