Well, I'm a land surveyor, and part of being a land survyor is all the cool toys you get to play with... hence the desire for a collimeter.

Totally OT, but I was in a gunshop West of Portland about 15 years ago. There was a guy jaw-jacking with one of the counter guys, and among the fanciful tails this jackwagon spun was a story about only boresighting a Browning A-Bolt and then lighting up a deer at 400+ yards. This was after telling a whopper about how he liked to use a 10 shot extended magazine in his Remington pump rifle. Legal, but what is the point? Try to get it in the first four or five shots, huh? I made a comment about being an irresponsible putz for shooting at a deer that far away with a rifle he had not verified zero on and left.
