Next Tues. I am taking wife, Storm, huning deer and pig. Here in FL. the deer are small and usually shots can be taken at well inside 100 yards. I have loaded for her with 40gr. IMR4064, pushing a Sierra 100gr. SPBT, in her .243Win. chambered carbine. I still have time to test fire others. The H&R Handi-Rifle that she uses has a 20" barrel. This will be her first ever hunt. She is 62 years young and only 5' 2".
Can anyone suggest a better bullet and/or load to help her cleanly knock down her deer and pig, if she is lucky enough to get them in her sights?
Best,
Steven and Storm

I am using 41.5gr of RL22 and the 100gr Partition with CCI BR2 Primers. They are clocking a touch over 2900 out of my sons' 243. I am very confident any deer hit decently, will be laying where he is shot. I wouldn't mind putting one in a pig either. that little Partition is probably a pretty tough little monster. Scotty

My ultimate load is 45 gr of IMR 7828 with 95 gr BT or PT or 100 gr PT.

Accuracy tends to be superb and velocity is about 3200 fps in a 22" barrel.

Man, I may have to give that one a try. Sounds like a solid shooter! That is zipping. Maybe I will try it with the Ballistic Tips I have. Scotty
