Bighorn Rams Crashing Together!

Saw some great bighorn ram activity this morning in Chelan County, Washington:

Excellent shot, Guy. Just spent time with a fellow from MT that took a fine sheep this year. You just have to admire the beauty of these magnificent animals. You captured their majesty and awesome strength, Guy.

Yes! It sounded almost like a gunshot when they'd hit.

Here's the darker ram that was on the left in yesterday's head-butting photo. They'd rest up between smacks. Maybe getting their brains a bit un-scrambled? Then they'd go at it again. This one is darker, and a little smaller than his opponent.

That had to be awesome. I remember the first time i heard elk start fighting. Sounded like a tree came crashing down. They ended up about 15yds from us. I was like a kid in a candy store.

Boom! Another impact. Eventually the dark one dropped to his "knees" but was back on his feet quickly.
