Yes, You means YOU!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

There are hundreds and hundreds---no, thousands of cartridges I am living without, and I seem to be doing fine with the dozen or so cartridges I load and shoot. BUT, there is a list of cartridges that do not appeal to me and there are those I think are utterly worthless. In handguns, the .25s, .32s, and 9mm cartridges could disappear and not be missed by me. In rifle cartridges, I see no use for the .30 Carbine and I never was interested in either the .250 or .300 Savages. The .270 Winchester could disappear and the .280 would take its place with aplomb. But really...it's great that we have all these to choose from. There are as many unique perspectives in the shooting/reloading/hunting game as there are participants. I'm for keeping the .30 Carbine around...someone sees utility in it.

You can keep the following, as I have no use for them:

30-06
.270
7mm Mag
10 ga.
300 WM

.25 ACP
.32 ACP

There are many I could live without, but few I would want to see disappear. Well, maybe I could make an exception for the 270 Winchester.

7mm mag? Yikes!

I see this thread turning into a Campfire-like bloodbath.

Maybe I should explain that part. I shoot a .338 WM. With 180-225 gr. bullets I can shoot just as flat as a 7mm or 300 WM, and still have a lot more energy at 400 yards. Plus, I get the Better BC of the longer .338 bullets like the Accubonds.

I also of am the opinion that the .338 has more of a push recoil vs. the sharp bounce of the 7 and 300, so follow up shots are easier...

Of course that is just my opinion and we all know about opinions....

Man.....this is difficult.....

Only one off the top of my noggin is a 30-30 Winchester.... mostly cause I have a 35 Remington.

Not a fan of 16 or 20 gauge, nor 28 gauge shotguns.

Can live without a 30-06.... (have one just cause I had 400 Frankfort Arsenal National Match Brass laying around)

Not a fan of 25 or 32 ACP unless I intend to stick the muzzle in someones ear.

38 S&W is a No Go.

223/5.56 unless it is stacked in a long magazine

Sorry, not a fan of anything that ends with WSM or WSSM. Just never interested me. And I did once have a 300WSM in a Winchester 70.... didn't excite me at all.

Anything requiring a Weatherby case....... they are difficult to find in this area and very costly. Altho I would buy Oldtraders Weatherby in a heart beat.... my reason why confuses even me.

Makes sense!

Actually the 185 gr TTSX at 3200 fps from my 26" barreled Ruger #1S intrigues me! I really do not need anything else, but that would put me into a boredom induced coma  .....

Here is my baby!

I get 2900 fps with 225 gr. Accubonds in my Sako TRG-S .338 WM. That load shoots 6 in. groups at 500 yards.

What can the 338 do that the 358 doesn't? :p :p
