Yesterday my wife and I stopped at Cabela's in Hamburg PA and I found CCI Large Rifle BR primers so I picked up two boxes of 1,000 hoping that they will help improve my hand loads. Has anyone found a significant benefit with the CCI BR primers? I am currently using WLR in my Rem 700 CDL 30-06.

The CCI BR-2 primers are just a more consistent lot of CCI 200s. They both will produce accurate ammo. You will need to back off on your powder charge you have been using with the WW primers and work up to see where you will find accuracy. It may come with the same powder load but you need to work up to it.

I only use brench rest or match. I believe they are more consistent but that maybe just me. I personally didn't have to change my powder charge but I have been told by other people that they had too. I currently have Fed match on hand & likely will be using them for sometime as I have over 3 bricks of them.

Blessings,
Dan

I use BR2 bench rest primers in my .257 Roberts, .270 Win and .30-06. I have had very good results with them. I use the same loads with CCI-BR2 but it is always a good idea to start below and work up.

Thanks for the replies fellas. Unfortunately right now I am not doing much loading or shooting but appreciate the info for when I get back at it in a few weeks. I am at 61gr of Reloder 22 with a 180 gr Nosler so I will back off a little for starters.

Yup i always use CCI BR's Or FED M's in my loads except for slow or ball powders then i use Mag Primers. RJ

I have seen noticable improvement with CCI BRs vs CCI 200s in my 30-06, 180 PT, 57.0 grains H4350 load, but no improvement whatsoever in other loads. I was glad to have the CCI BRs on hand for the PT load.

Joel, just as you have, I have seen a visible difference in accuracy at 300 yards with the BR-2 primers used with Partitions!

I use BR2's for all my standard LR needs. Not sure it helps a ton, but I know they don't hurt.

I like them, but not the price tag. I'm gonna try 210Ms as a replacement, but I have a few hundred BR2s just in case my 22-250 is that finicky. I'm shooting groups with that gun/load that most people on the internet would call me a liar for.
