I am going to be trying several kinds of bullets but I have questions about what charges I should try with the 140 gr. Ballistic Tip Boat-tails. Give me starting loads, maximum loads, and your favorite loads. I am going to be trying RL-22, IMR 4831, and H4831 SC. The other bullets I am going to be trying are the Barnes 140 gr. TSX, Sierra 140 gr. Gameking SBT, and the Hornady 140 gr. SPBT. If you have any info about the other bullets I would be interested. I will be shooting a Remington 700 BDL with 22 inch barrel. Also what COL do you like to use, if you have a rifle like mine.

For a 140 grain I found the max to b around 58 gr of rl22/h4831. Of course start lower.

140 barnes tsx 60.0 H4831SC FC? brass, WLR primer seated .020 off the lands shot accurate out of my buddies 270 win, 700 CDL this year and also accounted for his buck and cow a couple months ago...Both well placed heart shots behind the shoulder. Tiny hole in, nickle size exits. I used nosler bullets by choice but must say I was impressed. Once again, proving shot placement is 90% of the game. The buck didn't have CWD but we agree it must have had chronic retarded disease because it stood broadside about 70 yards off the jeep trail in a clear cut allowing us to back up, get the gun out of the back, step off the trail, take a knee, and crack him. The deer spun 180 degrees upon the bullet hitting him and down. What we didn't realize is that my dad was with a a first time hunter in his jeep in front of us. They had seen the deer and decided to go past it and then sneak back to get a shot. The young hunter heard the bullet smack the deer and that was that. We had no idea they were anywhere in the area let alone had seen that deer. Sorry for the rambling!
