Well now that the Christmas rush is over and our house is back to ourselves, my wife cooked up a big pot of clam chowder this afternoon. Corn, potatoes, garlic, onions, carrots, heavy cream and milk and of course a nice amount of chopped clams. With some biscuits it was a feast. It was the first clam chowder we have had in over a year and was fantastic. Another season is coming up this week, with at least 3 daylight digs. Weather is supposed to be cool and sunny. We are looking forward to another go at them.

Man, that sounds fantastic, Bill. Your lady has just fed you like a king.

So can you freeze some and over night it to MD :?:
Just Kidding Bill but it sure sounds good. How about the full receipt so we can duplicate it with what clams we have available.

I will post the one here that Katie used, later today. It is really very good and I am looking forward to some more tonight.

She doesn't measure much, just goes by instinct but here is what she gave me. Cube up some potatoes, place them in a little water in the bottom of deep cooker/pan. Add onion, garlic and black pepper. Simmer about 15 min. Add precooked bacon bits, corn, shredded carrots. Simmer for 5 more min, then add chopped clams, 2 cups 1/2X1/2, a cup of light cream 4 cups of low fat milk, stir in some flour to thicken, simmer about 10 more min or until clams are ready to eat. This should just about feed 4 for one serving, we we finished it off tonight.

I'll give it a try, wonder if it will work with Oysters? Hmmm sounds like a plan. (y)
