Colt 1911 owners

An old 1960s era Essex framed build up, USGI slide. It's ugly but it has a handfitted USGI NM Barrel and Bushing. I'm currently in the process of stippling the front strap and deciding what color of Cerakote to refinsh with.

I'm old-school when it comes to 1911's, the fewer frills the better. I figure if old John M. Browning wanted duck-bill grip safeties, extended slide releases and ambidextrous safties, he would have designed the pistol that way. When I carried a Remington-Rand 1911A1 in Vietnam, I never thought that today I'd own a Chinese Norinco 1911A1. In all fairness, the Norinco has shot innumerable rattlesnakes and has never failed me. I just purchased a Cimarron 1911 which I believe will also serve me well.
