i know comp shooters wiegh each case , bullet , and so on for there hobby or trade,, but is it really neccessary for general hunting rounds ??? i belive getting the cases trimmed the same and powder wieghts the same and bullet OAL should give the average hunter more than enough accuracy to obtain the game in wich they seek,, am i wrong ?????

You've got it right!

I do all that match prep stuff only when I need match-grade accuracy. For my hunting rifles, mostly I just use good quality components, run 'em through normal loading dies and shoot 'em from normal hunting rifles. This generally nets me somewhere around one-MOA groups out to 300 yards. A 3" group at 300 is PLENTY good for general purpose hunting!

I second what Guy says. I do case trimming, and weight each charge thrown from my powder measure, just cause I don't load alot of hunting rounds, but once my dies are set, I usually just measure at random to make sure everything is running smoothly. I don't have many issues keeping MOA out to 300 yards, and usually better. Just use good stuff, and keep a systematic process and you will be really surprised at how good your own stuff will shoot. I agree with Guy and Scotty.
Having said that, I usually do weigh my charges and load either new or once fired cases for my hunting loads. I just want everything as close to perfect as I can get it come show time.
