Cow elk harvest

Season opened this morning for cow elk on the homestead.
Going to give the 8 Mag a try this year with 200 grain Nosler Partitions.
Remington 700
Leupold 4.5-14 scope.

Those 700 Classic's are such nice guns. There's no doubt the 200 gr PT is going to hammer your elk when the time comes.

8 mag is a great cartridge. One of my greatest gun blunders was sending mine to Jarrett and having it re-barreled into a 338 Jarrett. In hindsight I should have kept the 8 and done something else with that years gun money.
