Thanks BUD!

Thanks again guys. My pop's is a pretty cool guy. We hunted Quebec for Black Bear, BC for moose, elk and caribou, and A TON for deer around home. We haven't had as much time to hunt in the past few years, but we do get together a few times a years. He is a heck of a guy. Plus, since he likes to do taxidermy, it keeps my taxidermy choosing pretty easy!

Your father looks like a pretty tough hombre Scotty!

Glad you guys got out together again!

All the best, Guy

Scotty, your Dad is a spitting image of Yosesmite Sam, seriously.

All kidding aside, what a cool way to spend time with family and what stories you guys could tell!!

My dad and I did go to Anticosti Island Quebec to hunt deer. This was before his bypass and heart related death eight years later. I believe Anticosti was his last deer hunt.

Your dad does nice work, Scotty, it must be nice to have free taxidermy? I have hunted with my sons several times and fished all over with them. I have never hunted deer with them though.

Your Dad looks to do beautiful work Scotty.
I am glad that you shared that with us :)

Blessings,
Dan

Hunting with the family always instills long-lasting memories. You two take turns? You up to NY one year and him down to Va the next? We've been seeing a mess of Black Bear this year in the Catskills. They have really expended their numbers and area these past 5 years.

If you want to hunt black bear, come to Washington. We have over 40,000 black bears in this state. Everytime my wife goes hiking in the North Cascades, she is shushing them off the hiking trail so she can get by.

The first deer hunter in my family, even though the youngest of the youngest brother.......I cant tell you HOW MUCH I would have given to take dad......just once.

An avid wingshooter some of my most precious memories are those of watching five quail drop from his 1953 Wingmaster when flushed.

In his 60s by the time the deer bug bit me (and we HAD deer lol) the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. He didnt know I knew it but his "reason" to not go was him thinking he would interefere with the love of my life in the outdoors.

GodBless ya Pops! Lord knows I still miss you!

Seeing those fortunate enough to create memories with "the ol man" has me ever again sorry I could not interest my two boys in such. Just too many electronic gizmos for them to occupy their time. I cant compete it seems.

God Bless you and your Dad.
Steve
