Deformed ballistic tip

This was a first for me out of all the boxes of Nosler BT's that I have reloaded through the years. This is a 120 grain 7mm bullet that my son uses for his 7mm-08 for whitetail deer in Minnesota. Interesting to see how much of the tip has recessed under the jacket of the bullet. Don't think this one will be used for anything except as a fouler for future range work.

Not concerned about getting bullets for one deformed bullet out of all that I have used through the years. Just wondering how the tip is set into the jacket that would make this happen.?
