Help!

I'm processing a bunch of once-fired 7mm-08 brass. Remington headstamp. The brass comes from three or four different rifles. This is my first time processing once-fired 7mm-08 brass.

I'm full-length resizing using RCBS lube and lube pad. I'm doing it the same way I processed the new stuff but for some reason the brass is hard to size and I'm dimpling the shoulders. The primers seem tight as well.

I don't think I'm using too much lube, since I'm doing it the same as when I do the new stuff.

What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?

Sounds like too much lube or dirty dies......try cleaning the sizing die and less lube on the case shoulder and neck.

Bingo, plugged vent.

Here's something I noticed, however. I switched over to my RCBS sizer and found that it was much easier to size the brass compared to the now-unplugged Hornady Custom sizer. Any ideas why?

Different die. Also they might not both be set to do the same amount of sizing. Are they harder going in or coming back out over the neck expander?

Harder going in with the Hornady.

Hornady dies in general size things down more...think of it as between a normal die and small base die.
I've got quite a few hornady and know this from experience.
Stuff that been through a hornady sizer barely touches the sides of a redding body die.
My hornady 308 is the only die that reclaims brass from my other guns and lets it chamber in my tight chamber savage.
Stuff through my hornady dies also eject further from my autoloaders.
They're good....they're maybe not as good...depending on what you need em for.
