Can a 25-06 barrel be re-chambered to 257 WBY?

The barrel is what it is. A twenty-five calibre barrel works with any twenty-five calibre cartridge.

Just got in from a windy, unproductive hunt. My dad tagged a 120" 8pt last night with his crossbow, though, so it's been a good season already.

Tom, I know you remember when my husband received his weatherby guns form his grandfather. He has never looked back. He is one of the greatest supporters of the 257 and 340 on the planet.

however, thinking about your family and your needs for hunting rifles going forward, I would not do it. That 25-06 will be perfect in a few years and you can pick up a 257 weatherby fairly cheap these days. And the 25-06 could be used first and then the 257 plus the 25-06 becomes available for the next one when they start hunting.
