You could get an Axis and get a different stock at a later date. It would at least get you back in the game and allow you time to do load development.

Yup- and thanks for the positive thought. I am definitely just in the search mode for the "right deal", which may not exist. I still have a 250 I can load for.... but to be honest I am a little reluctant to try. I am at the point in my life where seeing/ helping some one else enjoy some of our sport is motivating too. Winter here in the Metro north puts my shooting/ reloading on ice every year any way. Their are other options... I've got a 80+ year old Ithica 16ga. that I could reload slugs for if I got really bored... BTW- REALLY unimpressed by the Axis. Ya I know I said the same thing about the 788... Stevens 2000.... H&R.... Maybe A USED Axis for the right price.... Thanks again. CL
