It's been a long year and I finally got to go on my first hunt in Colorado due to a long vacation and a broken leg. My leg felt fine so my buddy and I headed out to unit 121 for the weekend. We had a pretty good feeling about it because we talked to the biologist that works for the DOW here in the Springs and after spending the weekend in a blizzard, we came home without seeing any.

While I'm a little disappointed that I didn't shoot anything I'm still happy I got out there this year and there is still a couple days left in the season.

Now THAT is dedication to a pronghorn. More fanatical than me...maybe. Thats saying somthing. Glad you could get out. Hope the motel was OK and the company was good. Better luck next time. CL

Sorry that you didn't wind up punching the tag but at least you were able to get out and enjoy beautiful country and spend time with a good friend!

Late season is tough on the plains, speedgoats live up to thier name. If they see you coming they don't stay in the area. I hunted them a couple of years ago in the late season and I was finally able to get a doe but it was a lot tougher than a regular pronghorn hunt.

I don't doubt it would be near impossible to see those white rear ends in the snow. But you certainly had an adventure ... Glad your leg is good enough to get around on now.

Getting out to hunt is always better than sitting at Home. Just getting out to experience that beautiful Colorado Scenery was worth it. I use to live in Colorado, the years I didn't get game was worth just going to experience that country side. Glad your leg is better.
