I am finally done with load work for next years hunting with my Marlin XL7 shooting two different bullets. The 165gr Sierra HPBT and the 180gr Combined Technologies BT. Here is the rifle, targets and the 165gr SBT using W760 moving 2900fps and the 180gr Round using RL-22, and the 180gr CT BT round

awesome! I have 2 x7 and they both shoot great. one of the best values in hunting rifles. if they only offered a 24" barrel and maybe a few mag calibers.....

great shooting btw. =P

Yep, cool, just plain cool, i am excited I got the load work to perform.

Very cool Mike. I really like them 220's in the 30 calibers. Wanna load up some in my 300WSM, just to mess around with a little.

Scotty, I am with you for heavier bullets in given calibers, that is why I lean toward the 180gr in the 06 instead of the 165gr, I just like how they are in my opinion they are so effective on big game. This is really seen in my 7mm08 driving the 160gr Speer SBT at 2802 - 2822fps and how it has performed on big game.

So, is the 220 the load you'll use on those bears? The group certainly looks like minute of

No, on black bear I will use the 180gr CT BT in open country and canyons of Arizona

YUP, another XL7 that shoots. No surprise...looks nice too. Is that a "Marlin" or a "Remlin"? I forget how to tell. CL

You know, I am not sure. It has JP on the barrel if that tells us anything?

Those are great hunting loads, but when you gonna figure out an accuracy load? ;)

Seriously dude that is SICK how accurate a factory rifle can be! Very nice!

Good hunting loads indeed but have not duplicated that three shot group yet, been 3 tenths to 4 tenths of an inch pretty consistently but not that 2 tenths group, but I think I will settle for what I generally get with that load.

Good going Mike. I would say thats minute of deer "eye" with that load.

Yes indeed and tweaking my 160gr Load for my 7mm08 this coming week, just fine tuning it. :)
