Went this afternoon and about 4:00pm took a five point with a 16" spread at 145yds with 7mm08 160gr Speer SPBT. In Mississippi it is 10" spread or 13" beam either or, so got meat for the freezer.

Yes, from this time last year this 7mm08 has dropped three bucks (this one being the smallest) and one doe - 4 shots 4 deer.

Man you definitely got a shooter there Mike. Nothing like confidence in your partner (TGR)!

On the other hand Speers kill deer too huh?

Who would have thunk it?

Well in March or first of April when the ALR Nosler bullets hit the stores, the 7mm 150gr AccuBond Long Range with a BC of .611, if it shoots good groups will replace this 160gr Speer with a .519 BC.

Good plan. Knowing your stick it will one-hole them too.

Really? If it will shoot them. Is there a bullet that gun doesn't shoot under half MOA?

Congrats of the fine buck!

Thanks guys, and just for the record, this rifle does not like Hornady 140gr Interbonds, it will only shoots them in 8/10" to 9/10" of and inch group most of the time.

Great shooting Mike. Glad the Speers worked well, they have always been a good bullet for me too. That is a heckuva good meat buck. Glad you have the freezers stocked back up some.

He did not have a lot of points but he came in at 152 pounds and was very healthy with a lot of fat on him.
