My neighbor is 80, his buddy is 86. They have a couple of cow tags. Happened to see a few cows drifting from my place across the highway to the neighbors, also the subunit they could hunt. I was in town, they didn’t think I would mind if they borrowed my tractor.

Glad to see some of us who are more mature connecting with the cows! (y) You're a good man to lend them your tractor.

That's excellent! Congratulations to the guys an their cows.

I’d love to be ambitious at 86...

Congratulations to your neighbors

That's wonderful! Congratulations to the two gentlemen. The cow looks to be in great shape and nice and fat. She will be good eating.

Excellent all the way around! Good job by all! Two gents that age still getting out there and getting it done deserve an extra (y)

Look at the fat on her, she is in fantastic shape. Must be the all that nice irrigated farmland around. Tough way to hunt no doubt.

Bill mostly peas and wheat this year, apples too. What I know is they saw the elk, scrambled after them, then came back got the tractor and a utility trailer, loaded her up, brought her home.
When I left they were in front of the shop drinking coffee. Two hours later they have, with help from my neighbors son, an elk ready for the cooler.
Deed was done with a pre 64 mdl 70; 30-06; 180 gr. Remington core locks.

Pretty cool. 2 older gents using an older rifle with a bullet that came out 30 yrs before I was born.

Be a sad day if Remington ever closes up shop and there goes the core lokts. One of the toughest cup and core bullets ever designed. A little too tough in some instances for whitetails depending on the cartridge and bullet weight, and the B.C on them isn't very good, but non the less been a great all around bullet for decades.
