well not totally, but getting close. since i build lots of AR's i've decided to finally get a 6.8x51/277fury. i ordered the needed dies and bought some hybrid cases along with 1,500 27cal135gr fmj-bt's. i won't be reloading over 65k of pressure which almost defeats the purpose of the cartridge, but can get close to the 270win in performance. every custom barrel place i've checked out states for "not over 65k use" (or something similar to that). i'll probably go with an 18-20" barrel with a 7-8 twist. berger with their 170eol's would get me to choose the 7 rather than the 8. gas system length i've yet to decide on? using a .100" gas port (since i'm using an agb and probably a lightweight bcg) i'll use the +2 that gives me a 14.7" from port to front of receiver length (iirc for dpms) and leaves 5.3" to muzzle. perfect to light/low recoiling with lower weight bcg's, especially if a suppressor is being used.
