So today I ran around to the local Wholesale Sports where I usually get my supplies and wow, they had hardly anything and especially anything that I use. So I was having a wo is me kind of day. Got to looking through my brass and going through an old coffee can full of 300 WM brass I got with the rifle. I thought it was full of already fired brass and the top stuff looked sad. Got to digging in it and what do you know, 108 brand new PMC cases  and 50 or more Winchester once fired but in super great shape. Could not tell they were fired other than the dirty primer pockets. So quite a score for me. I'm estatic.

Now I need to just find some more Accubonds to feed the 300.

It`s always nice to find a stash like that especially these days when stuff is in short supply. Should we all be so lucky to find similar stuff :)

I had similar experience last Week. After returnig home from our Wholesale sports empty handed I started digging around looking for stuff as well. I ran into a whole bunch of loaded factory ammo I forgot I even had. Looks I can shoot 22LR,22mag and 357mag for quite a good awhile before I get even close to low. Looks like I will be shooting less high power for awhile until suppliers start stocking shelves in Wa. state again. I don,t think suppliers like our states gun control nut cakes. Could be awhile before things get better. Will be doing some more digging tommorrow. I think I have a stash of 30:06 brass somewhere in the garage. Finding 06 brass would make me Happy,Happy.Happy

It is always great to discover what we had forgotten (or never knew) we have. I believe it has happened to all gun cranks. However well we think we organise, some components get shoved to the back or buried by new stuff. When we discover it, it is like Christmas all over.

Great score. I love finding stuff I didn't know I had or thought was gone. Wished I could find some primers!

I had a severe head injury from an auto crash some years back (I know, that confirms a lot of things for some of you.). Until I could retrain my mind, one of the lingering issues was some memory loss. I was forever finding new things I had purchased and "lost." It became a bit of a joke in our home. "Wow! Look at this! A new shirt! I didn't know I had that." My wife would kindly point out that she bought it for me a year ago. Going down to my loading room was a daily adventure. Opening the gun safe was a delight each time. Nothing like living in the now.

Normally I keep pretty good track of the things I have, but with the recent move I guess I lost track. It is nice for sure. I'm glad i'm not the only one too. Almost wish I could be like Dr. Mike and everyday find something that is new, but I don't want the injury to go along with it. I would not have the desire to be buying new things all the time.

There were a lot of deficits, Corey; but they only remain deficits when we want them to remain such. You see, one of the problems after that particular injury was that I couldn't remember what I had just bought. At one time, I had over fifty jars of Miracle Whip. My wife had programmed me that I needed to keep Miracle Whip whenever I went below the line. Consequently, once programmed, I could not reprogram! Something similar happened with Rooster Tails. I wanted some Rooster Tails, so I programmed myself to buy Rooster Tails. At one point, I had over 8,000 Rooster Tail lures. I gave away a lot of them as Christmas gifts. My girls still think they are fancy earrings. I still have these lures hiding throughout my man cave. It is how I got started in the load development phase. I had so many bullets that I had to use them, so I began to work up loads and sell the information. I'm mostly past that phase of my life, except I still use the injury whenever I'm coming home with a new rifle. Do you reckon my wife will catch on one day?

...I generally find stuff I know I had right after I buy a replacement for the original purchase that I stashed & couldn't find...

I had a similar experience the other night.
Looking for some 243 brass I KNEW I had somewhere???????
I stumbled into a whole 1 gallon coffee can full of Fed GMM 308 brass already prepped and ready to load....

Oh and FTR I just turned 50.......

DrMike, I can relate to your past memory issues. I have each time I have been on life support for several days with mechanical breathing, had the effects of hypoxia which has on occasion wiped all of my near term memory away.

I was so worried on one occasion after being in a coma for 10 days, that I paid out of pocket, to have a Pyschologist test my I.Q. and memory. He said that my I.Q seemed normal for someone my age, background, education, disabilities and what it had been. My short term memeory was badly impaired but gradually improved over about two years. I also played a lot of duplicate bridge that first year to help it and gradually the short-term memory came back. Some long term memory of personal life dissappeared and never did come back but all the memorized facts from work are still there.

I bought a lot of fishing lures (bass lures) as well. I wonder what all that means since you also did that? Scary huh!
