I've been using mine for about six years now, I think, and I still get that "oh, yeah" feeling when I get to work on it. It's one of the best choices I've ever made in reloading equipment.
Here's the press in the position corresponding to "ram down."
Here is the press with the part I call the "stage" moving up. Notice the position of the toggle links.
And here is the press with the stage fully in the "ram up" position. Again notice the position of the toggle links.
The idea is that when the press is doing its work, the toggle links are pulling straight up. All the force is vertical and no horizontal force component is exerted upon anything that imparts motion to the case. The links are vertical in the "ram up" position and they are the only parts of the press that exert any motive force on the stage. There are also two vertical stabilizer elements that prevent any lateral movement of the stage.
I hate to ask, Fotis, knowing it may be difficult to explain what the issue was with the collet dies. I was thinking of trying out a Lee collet neck sizer.
The only thing I do not do on my COAX is pull bullets. Other than that, it is about as good as it gets. The leverage it provides is awesome and it doesn't stress a bench the way a Rockchucker or similar press does when sizing.
