Has anyone besides rem 25-06 man cronographed this?

I know rem man stated he gets 3100fps from 51.5 gr rl-22 powder out of his 25/06, has anyone else cronographed this powder in 25/06 using 115 bal tips? I have no reason to not believe rem man just wondering if others have had same speed ratings? As none of the manual or bal programs show this speed from a 24" barrel?

I'll have a crono next week, just finished as the range the gun likes 51.5 gr of powder, just wondering what others get for speed in this powder range thanks again. CT

I have not chronographed that exact load but my 700 rem with a factory barrel gets 2935 fps with 56 gr of RL22 under a 120 Sierra HPBT.

56 grains with a 120 gr bullet? Is that inside the specs for that bullet? That seems high on powder charge for such a bullet? You can't break 3,000 fps with 56 gr of rl-22?

Maybe I need to try IMR 4350?

According to Hornady 4th edition a max load of RL22 is 56.5 gr. with 117 gr bullets, this load was worked up to carefully, some barrels are a little "looser" than others and will tolerate much hotter loads without undue pressure.

I have found primers can also make a pretty big difference in loads and how quickly they develop pressure.

The 56 gr load is quite mild in my barrel.

As with any load work up carefully.

My particular barrel tends to give velocities that are below what others give on average.

For 115 and 120 gr bullets I have found RETUMBO to give me velocities that are more in line with what the 25-06 should get. It also has given me outstanding accuracy. Retumbo is one of the powders that seems to benefit frm magnum primers.
